Pet Pantry Pro is not currently an inventory management system. Its first responsibility is running an excellent pet food pantry: clients, pets, eligibility, visits, distributions, reports, backups, and synchronization.
Some organizations also need to understand what products they have on hand. For those teams, we are developing inventory as a separate, optional capability. A pantry that does not need inventory will be able to leave it turned off and keep the focused workflow it already uses.
The future workflow
Scan, enter quantity, and keep moving
- Scan the product barcode.Use a connected scanner to read a standard UPC code.
- Recognize the item.Where product information is available, show a clear product match instead of asking the volunteer to type every field.
- Enter the quantity.Record how many items were received, adjusted, or distributed.
- Use manual entry when needed.Create a product clearly when it has no barcode or cannot be recognized.
- Choose whether to use it at all.Keep inventory controls out of the pantry’s way when the organization does not need them.
The mission remains first
Inventory should support service—not turn service into warehouse work.
The fastest inventory system is not helpful if it makes a family wait longer at the pantry table. We will design the module around the people doing the work, validate it with real organizations, and keep the core service workflow clear.

Do you receive pallets, individual donations, or both? Do you track expiration dates, storage locations, package sizes, donor restrictions, or only broad totals? Which scanners do you already own? What takes too much time today?
We are open to ideas and would genuinely like to hear them before this module is finalized. Real pantry feedback is more valuable than assumptions made in a development room.
